Carotti Cup

The Bruno Carotti or Rieti-Terminillo Cup is an automobile time trial, which takes place on the 4 bis State Road that connects Rieti to Mount Terminillo. Organized by the ACI of Rieti, it is valid for the Italian Mountain Speed Championship and for the European Championship of the same specialty.
The name of the cup is dedicated to the Rieti pilot Bruno Carotti, who died in September 1950 while competing on a race on that route.
The departure is located in Lisciano (at km 5,400 of the State Road 4 bis of Terminillo), while the arrival is located at km 20,500 of the same road in Campoforogna.
The 15 kms of the track develop along a difference in altitude of 1125 meters with an average gradient of 8%.
The characteristics of the road (steep slopes interspersed with medium-fast sections, four hairpin bends and two chicanes), make the route one of the fastest and most selective in Europe.
